Where To Park For The Market

Where to Park for the Glens Falls Farmers’ Market

Excited to visit the Market Center this Saturday? We can’t wait to welcome you downtown for another great season of fresh food, local goods, and community fun! Here’s your updated guide to making parking—and your whole market trip—smooth and stress-free.

Street Parking

You’ll find convenient street parking available on:

  • Broad Street
  • South Street
  • Glen Street
  • Hudson Avenue

Look for the orange dashed lines on our parking map for street parking options close to the market entrance.

Approved Parking Lots

If you prefer a lot, there are several public options just steps from the market:

  • Elm Street Lot #1 (next to the old pavilion)—this lot was the most popular last year and is still available!
  • Elm Street Lot #2 (behind The Bullpen)
  • Exchange Street Lot
  • Hudson Headwaters School Street Lot (Only this HHHN lot is approved—see update below)
  • Parking Garage on Park Street

Important Parking Update—HHHN Lots

Hudson Headwaters Health Network (HHHN) owns two lots near the market, but only the School Street lot is available for market parking at this time.

  • Please do not park in the HHHN South Street/Main Lot—that lot is reserved and not available for market use.

  • If you need overflow or vendor parking, please use the School Street lot. There is usually plenty of space, even on busy days.

Accessible Parking

Handicap parking spaces are available in the Elm Street Lot #1.

Alternative Ways to Get Here

Bus & Trolley Stops: There are several stops right by the market (see green icons on the map). For routes and schedules, visit cdta.org.
Bike Racks: The City has installed bike racks right at the Market Center—perfect for cyclists!

Please Avoid These Lots

Union Square Lot (Broad & Pine): This is a private lot and not currently approved for market parking.
Other private or residential lots nearby: Please respect posted signs and only use approved public lots.

Construction Notes

Some roads around the Market Center may be closed or have construction barriers—see the yellow and black caution zones on our parking map and allow a little extra time to get to your spot.

Reminders

  • Please only park in the lots and spaces listed above—avoid private and residential lots unless marked for public use.
  • The market is expected to be busy, especially during opening weekends, so consider arriving early.

  • Don’t forget your reusable bags—and your patience! We appreciate your flexibility as we settle into our new space.

Submit Your Weekly Newsletter Highlights

We're streamlining the way vendors contribute to the Glens Falls Farmers' Market weekly newsletter! All submissions must now go through this web portal to ensure consistency, organization, and automation.

💡 Why the Change?
The weekly newsletter takes a considerable amount of time to produce. By having all vendors use this submission form, your content will be automatically organized into our system—saving time and reducing errors.

🛠️ How It Works:
-Select your business name from the dropdown menu.
-Add your weekly special (just a couple of sentences is all we need).
-Upload one image related to your special or product.

That’s it! The system will:
-Crop your image into a perfect square for the newsletter.
-Reduce the file size to meet email formatting standards.
-Upload your image to a central Google Drive folder.
-Log your submission into a master spreadsheet for the current week's specials.

🔜 Coming Soon:
-Ability to pre-schedule your submissions for multiple weeks at a time.
-A public-facing webpage with weekly vendor highlights, specials, and music lineups that updates automatically.
-A vendor dashboard where you can manage your online market listing, newsletter submissions, track attendance, membership fees, and more.
-Let’s make our marketing smarter, more efficient, and more impactful—together.

Glens Falls Farmers Market Vendor Expectations

Vendor Commitment & Expectations

The Glens Falls Farmers Market is committed to providing a welcoming, high-quality shopping experience for the community. As a vendor, you play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and professionalism of the market. Below are the expectations that all vendors must follow to ensure a smooth and successful season.

1. Attendance & Punctuality
  • Vendors must arrive and be fully set up at least 15 minutes before market opening (8:45 AM for the indoor market, 7:45 AM for the outdoor market).
  • Vendors must remain open for the full market hours (9 AM - 12 PM for winter, 8 AM - 12 PM for summer). Early teardown is not permitted.
  • If you are unable to attend a market date, you must notify the Market Manager at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Repeated absences may result in penalties, reassignment of space, or loss of vending privileges.

2. Vendor Booth & Display Requirements

A well-presented booth enhances the customer experience and market atmosphere. Vendors must adhere to the following guidelines:

Booth Appearance
  • Tables must be covered with a clean, professional tablecloth.
  • Products must be neatly displayed and arranged in a visually appealing manner.
  • Signage must be clear, legible, and reflect accurate pricing and product descriptions.
  • Vendors should maintain a clean and tidy space at all times. Trash and debris must be removed at the end of the market.
Signage Requirements
  • Each vendor is required to display a sign with their business name.
  • Product descriptions and pricing must be clearly visible to customers.
  • Vendors selling food must have all required permits, labels, and ingredient lists available.

3. Workshare Assignments (Mandatory for All Vendors)

To keep the market running smoothly, all vendors must participate in workshare duties. These assignments vary by season and are essential for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the market space.

Winter Market Workshare
  • Table Setup & Breakdown: Vendors are responsible for moving and storing food court tables using provided carts before and after the market.
  • Signage Placement: Designated vendors must place and remove marketing signs at various locations around the mall.
  • Missed Workshare Penalty: Failure to complete an assigned task will result in a $50 fine per missed workshare (as per market bylaws).
Summer Market Workshare (Details will be provided as needed)
  • Duties include setting up and taking down tents, placing signage, and maintaining shared spaces.
Workshare Swap Policy:
  • If you are unable to fulfill your workshare on a scheduled date, YOU are responsible for finding a replacement.
  • Swaps must be reported to the Market Manager in advance.

4. Market Conduct & Customer Service
  • Vendors must be friendly, professional, and engage with customers.
  • Phones should be used sparingly.
  • Vendors should refrain from excessive socializing that might interfere with customer interactions.
  • No loud music, political discussions, or offensive behavior will be tolerated.

5. Compliance & Enforcement
  • Vendors must follow all local health regulations for food and beverage sales.
  • Any vendor found violating market policies may be subject to warnings, fines, or removal from the market.

By participating in the Glens Falls Farmers Market, all vendors agree to these expectations and policies.

For any questions or concerns, please contact the Market Manager.

Bring compostable food scraps to the market and drop them in a monitored bucket to be composted by one of the vendors.

This service will continue with our winter market at the Aviation Mall.

Buckets need to be monitored to be sure only compostables are collected. Please talk to the monitor about putting yourself on the schedule to be a volunteer!
